Do You Have What It Takes To Be Successful?


We all wonder if we have what it takes to be a success. The good news is yes, you do!

But where do you start, what do you do and how do you get there?

Everyone has been given the skills to be successful; however, not everyone knows

what they are or how to develop those skills. Research has shown that successful

people share certain common traits, skills and characteristics. Here is a partial list:

Honesty Integrity Disciplined

Learner Punctual Goal Setters

Motivated Decisive Focused

Hard worker Fair Knowledgeable

Good Listener Positive Mental Attitude Gratitude

Disciplined Humble Organized

This list is definitely not all inclusive; however, all of these things can be learned and

developed. It just takes a little effort to change.

So what is the key to unlocking your success?

Tom Ziglar quotes: “The fastest way to success is to replace bad habits with good

habits.”

Imagine what could happen if you took only one bad habit and worked on it for a month

to replace it with a good habit. Let’s say you need to get in a workout. Give up your 30

minute rerun and take a walk or ride a bike instead. I know that you think you need the

time to ‘wind down’ however, you will feel better and be more energized if you will get

up and move than if you sit there and veg. How much different would your life look in

one year? Imagine working on one habit a week! Wow! What an impact that could

have on your life in as little as 3 months, 6 months or even 1 year!

My encouragement for you is to pick one of your habits that are less desirable and

replace it with a habit of success. Next, read the book Born To Win by Zig Ziglar and

Tom Ziglar, and last but definitely not least, educate yourself through professional

development training.
